Edit chords and lyrics
Shape an imported chart directly in the song editor, organise its sections, and check the result before rehearsal.
Open the song you want to edit
Choose Songs from the main navigation, then choose the song's name in the list. Stage Mate opens it in the song editor.
Know the three main areas of the editor
At a high level, the editor has three working areas: Song Info for details such as artist, duration, key, BPM and time signature; Chords & Lyrics for the chart itself; and Lyric Highlighting for marking vocal parts.
This guide focuses on Chords & Lyrics. Lyric Highlighting, performer transpositions and vocal roles are available on Duo and Band plans and can wait until you need them.

Edit a chord or lyric where it appears
Choose the chord or words you want to change and type the correction. Chords remain aligned with their position in the lyric line.
Press Enter inside a lyric segment to split the text into a new song line. Use the arrow keys to move naturally between nearby editable fields.

Add, remove or reorganise lines and sections
Move over a line or section and choose its handle to open the available actions. You can add, duplicate or delete material, and insert a section break above a song line.
Edit a section heading such as Verse or Chorus directly. Drag a line or section by its handle when you want to change the order.

Wait for Saved, then preview the song
Stage Mate saves changes automatically. Check that the status beside the title has changed from Unsaved changes or Saving… to Saved.
Choose Play to view and rehearse the song using the performance screen. Return to the editor whenever the chart needs another adjustment.
